A Heart That Listens

By: Sarah Haris

Often we are driven by the objective to win a conversational battle, to prove ourselves more intellectually profound than others, to prove others wrong, to find faults in others. In pursuit of this objective we totally forget that:

"Sometimes it is better to be kind than to be right.
We do not need an intelligent mind that speaks, but a patient heart that listens."

Thought of the week - Love Is In The Air

“Love is in the air…” since it’s the Valentine’s Day. Youngsters anxiously wait for this day to let their sweethearts know how much they care.
But The Divine being doesn’t wait for any special day for the manifestation of His Love and bounty. We must understand how sacred love is. It isn’t something that can be bought off the shelf and distributed. Love is also not something reserved for just a “sweetheart”.
Expression of love should also not be reserved for one special day. We shouldn’t wait to tell those special people in our lives how much we care. Love needs expression, at every moment, every day. Your loved ones deserve it not only on one particular day. And who has seen tomorrow. So be generous; it’s never too late. Give your love away; it only multiplies.
Let’s celebrate love and leave your mark on the lives you touch!

Wisdom Corner - Love: The Mystic Way

By: Muhammad Haris

Love in the words of Ghazali (R.A) is the dynamic force of direct contemplation of Divine attributes manifest under the aspect of limitations in the universe – the phenomenal world of multi forms and colours. Love can prove an incentive for kindling the fire in the soul in order that the Divine Endowments are released within, igniting the power, the ability and passion to understand, affirm, and appreciate the Beauty of Good Work.
Rumi speaks about ardent Love, quoting Hassan of Basra (728 AD) regarding God:

“When My servant devotes himself to praise and recollection of ME and takes delight in it, he loves Me and I love him”

[Ashikani (he loves me) wa (and) ashiktuhu (I love him)].

Atonement With The Absolute

By: Shazia Yousuf

Every object that we see around us is revealing. It tells us its character, nature and the entire secret that it beholds. Every presence explains to us all that it contains. There is music in every object and in every being, everything speaks the language of rhythm and tone.

A friendly person shows harmony in his voice, his words, his movements, his manner and his thought. An unfriendly person shows disharmany in all his movements, his glance and expression, in his walk, in everything. Every action may show harmony or disharmony – if only one can see it.
You can see from the attitude of a person whether he’ll be your friend or will end up being your enemy. You need not wait till the end; you may see this at the first glance. But you have to have an eye for it and you have to have atonement with God – The Absolute being.

Mother - A Spiritual Relationship

By: Sadaf Chaudhary

We are all chained in different relationships. It is a sort of bonding and an acquaintance between two human figures living on the earth. A spiritual relationship is one that aims for the highest good for those in the relationship. It is something that facilitates our spiritual growth. Among all relationships, no relationship can aim for our highest good other than that of a mother.

Happy Mothers' Day - Every Moment, Every Day

By: Shazia Yousuf

I can never forget that very special moment when I held you in my arms for the very first time. The warmth that I felt was something so different; the strange emotions that stirred in my heart were something I had never felt before. Looking into your sparkling eyes was a moment to cherish. That was the very first time I felt a unique bond, a strange sort of love. I had loved before, but this love was so very different. This love was the result of Motherhood! This was my “Happy Mother’s Moment”

Soul's Reflections- Speak Your Heart Out

By: Shazia Yousuf

There he was, standing beside the grave, as he would every Thursday. Another Thursday, one more rose on the grave and yet another hour or two of silent memories and flashbacks. He would stand there, not utter a single word, say a few prayers, and just shed a few uncontrollable tears that would lift the burden off his heart of losing her forever. His heart would feel lighter but also emptier than before. But this much would only be sufficient for him to live for a week more, to come back and visit her again.

Wisdom Corner - Points To Ponder

From the diary of Muhammad Haris:

  • Essence of Religion is Love (Ghazali)
  • Love is the Service of mankind.(Service to God) [Steven Covey]
  • His Service is Righteousness. (Allama Yousuf Ali)
  • Righteousness is thy beloved! (Righteous conduct is the true religion.) [Afkar-e-Ghazali]
  • Love is apart from all religions. (Rumi)
  • Love demands sacrifice.
  • Religion without sacrifice is sin.
  • Lovers have no religion but God alone.
  • When we live the primary laws of love, we encourage obedience to the primary laws of life.

Wisdom Corner - Points To Ponder

From the diary of Muhammad Haris:
  • Conscience is the repository of timeless truth and principles – the internal monitor of natural laws.
  • In this world (in this life) we learn how to live the “primary laws of love” so that we are encouraged to live the “primary laws of life” because love is the essence of religion.
  • Love is to affirm and appreciate; to believe bless and build; to be beneficent and benevolent; to be compassionate; to have faith; to empathize and to forgive; to be kind and listen; to be merciful and munificent; to sacrifice and serve; to tolerate and trust.
  • Our Mission is submission (surrender).
  • Life is meaningless without purpose; purpose which does not add value to lives is meaningless.

Wisdom Corner - The Divine Self Manifestation

By: Muhammad Haris
One cannot be a leader of others till he becomes the leader of his own life. If he leads the laws of love, then he can encourage others to lead the laws of life. The Prophet always preached the Truth with an emphasis on leading the life of peace and reconciliation. He preached the principle of peaceful co-existence by emphasis on liberating the human kind from poverty, hunger, disease and despair, ignorance and illiteracy, terror, tyranny and violence. This can be possible only if there is a plantation of love inside the human heart.
This is the only way of life prescribed by the Divine operating system which says that the obedience to the Prophet constitutes Love of Divine essence.
Imam Ghazali, known as the “Proof of Islam” has very emphatically opined that
